Integrale bio-logische Architektur
ein Begriff der Mitte der 1960er Jahre von Peter Schmid in Wien ins Leben gerufen wurde. Lange bevor man sich über die Auswirkungen der Architektur und Baustoffe auf die Gesundheit und den Planeten Gedanken machte. Gemeinsam mit Architektin Maria Schmid Miesjka und einigen gleichgesinnten Mitstreitern gründeten sie die IBA Studiengemeinschaft für Integrale bio-logische Architektur in Wien.
Dieser Blog enthält die wichtigsten Aktivitäten die seit damals stattfanden. In einer Zeit, in der sich die Welt, mehr denn je, der Klimakrise und der Auswirkungen menschlichen Handelns auf die Umwelt bewußt wird, werfen wir hier einen Blick in die Pionierarbeit und Laufbahn von Architekt Professor Peter Schmid.
As one of the very first, Peter Schmid started in de middle of the 1960-ties in pioneering healthy and environmentally-conscious (sustainable) architecture and building technology, already before the first publications of the Club of Rome. Related research as well practical realisations took place in this time. Integral bio-logical architecture, a concept that was brought to life by Peter Schmid in Vienna in the mid-1960s. Long before anyone thought about the effects of architecture and building materials on health and the planet. Together with the architect Maria Schmid Miesjka and some like-minded colleagues, they founded the IBA Study Group for Integral Biological Architecture in Vienna.
This blog contains the most important activities that have taken place since then. At a time when the world is becoming more aware of the climate crisis and the effects of human activity on the environment, we take a look at the pioneering work and career of Architect Professor Peter Schmid.
